The Tragic Passing of an Agricultural Legend

It is with great sadness that The Hand That Feeds U.S. reports that Pat Benedict, a true pioneer of modern-day agriculture, died in a car accident last month.  Mr. Benedict appeared on the cover of Time Magazine in 1978 for “The New  American Farmer” and was profiled recently by Farm Policy Facts and The Hand That Feeds U.S. for a series of articles that took a look back at that cover story.  He is a former board chairman for American Crystal Sugar and helped found Pro-Gold corn processing.

Mr. Benedict was a great friend to The Hand That Feeds U.S.  He will be missed but his legacy will live on.
